Larry Nelson

Larry was born in Oklahoma in 1936, moved to Tulia, Texas in 1947, graduated from high school there in 1953, and finished with a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas Tech in 1957. He spent three years in the Navy as a naval officer before returning to the farm in 1960.

After farming for 18 years, he and four other farmers bought in 1978, their first gin. By default, he became manager (they could not find anyone else) and eventually the company became Windstar Inc. and owned four gins.

Larry lives with his wife, Rena, in Tulia, has two children, Kevin of Tulia and Judy of Hereford, and six grandchildren.
